My Review and Thoughts:

This is an absolutely hilarious and original animated series that will make anyone with a sense of humor bust out in laughs. This is created and drawn by a very talented man that I first got acquainted with by seeing his wonderful amazing drama Fray: Click Here to Read Review. This is totally different from Fray. This is a comical exploration of ancient biblical scenarios with comical banter, added to a fictional reality that truly shines in the department of originality.

The basis of this animated web series is Jimmy. Jimmy is Jesus’ brother and is always left out or pin pointed as Jesus’ brother, basically giving him a headache and the frustration of living in Jesus’ shadow. I was lucky enough to be able to review the series through a private screener by the director and writer and artist himself Geoff Ryan. Ryan alongside Talia Aroshas created a funny, wild, and something that will, make even the hardened soul, giggle or smirk or laugh.

The voices of the characters are something that truly standout and make the laughing even more inducing as you watch. Nicholas Kosky plays your main character Jimmy, brother to Jesus and he gives a persona of frustration and ridiculous jealousy. The voice of Judas and his character is funny as hell. Voiced by Todd Rocheford. He owns the part of the animated character and is my favorite of the series. Danielle Palma voices Mithra who worships pagan gods and creates a comical reality of truth to the subject at hand saying Jesus puts on a good show. I love the character of Mary, Danielle Palma also voices her. She sounds like an overbearing Jewish mother who loves her son Jesus. She and others are always comparing poor Jimmy to his esteemed brother, the Son of God. This is not politically correct in anyway but that’s the humor and the funniness to the show. It shows a lighthearted reality to the often depressing biblical history of the word made flesh.

This I feel is going to be a successful series. It’s character driven and animated with wonder through the art of creating originality and showcasing a Monty Python type hilarity, that will stick with you and last long after watching. One thing you will do is express to others and showcase a fandom to this series. It’s something memorable and something that will leave a lasting impression. What stands out and what I love, is that the artwork is drawn by hand giving it a personal touch. One thing that is wrong with animation this day and age is there is no personal reality to it. Most of the animated features are all computer drawn. I really enjoy the idea that Geoff Ryan draws the animation first, giving it the old school beauty that animation deserves. The coloring and scanning and all around team work from Steven Yap and Rayna Wrighton all come together to create an original flawless animated web-series that shines and stands out above and beyond many animated features or series. Everything stands out from the sound and the wonderful old school classic Jewish music being played by Jacob Lawson.

Truly a wonderful independent series that should be graced and viewed by all those that support the art of animation and the wonder and love of comedy.

The whole crew, Danielle Palma (Mary/Mithra), Nicholas Kosky (Jimmy), Todd Rocheford (Judas), Gabriel Chytry (Jesus), Tim Rodriguez (Friendar), Colin Chinchar (Joseph), Steven Yap (Edwin) which all create truly memorable personas that shine and become apart of you as you laugh along with actions created through funny animation and writing from Geoff and Talia.
