My Review and Thoughts:

Twilight Time has released many Woody Allen films on Special Edition 3,000 Unit Blu-ray’s. Which you can read my reviews for all of them by looking in the Twilight Time Section on the Left-hand side. From: A Midsummer Night’s Sex Comedy / Love and Death / The Purple Rose of Cairo and others. Woody Allen needs no introduction to the cinema world. His vast career of films as both writer, director, actor and so on, have been hits, misses, but always unique and interesting.

Woody Allen has a style that only he can do and get away with in film. He has a natural talent of creating truly original pieces of cinema. His ultimate completion of films is something that stands out as being one of a kind experiences.

You either love or hate Woody Allen movies. Most of Allen’s films are simple, down to earth and nothing grand, just great interaction and performances. That performing holds the watcher, and creates a satisfied experience, no matter how simplistic it is. Woody Allen is just one of those unique, masterly, gifted and iconic performers, directors and writers that are, few.

Twilight Time has lovingly brought out yet again another Allen film with a new outlet that is flawless and is an example of how to treat a film. This is another wonderful transfer. High quality product. Interiors has never looked any better, and this is a wonderful ability to experience another Allen film.

This like many of Allen’s films has a wonderful cast of actors and actresses. Woody Allen uses many of the same actors and actresses repeatedly, and one of those actresses is Diane Keaton. Keaton and Allen joined together, for in my own opinion, one of the greatest comic films to date, and that’s Annie Hall. Diane Keaton is another one of those persona's that needs no introduction. She has always graced cinema with a flawless example of just how a performance can shine, and the role of Renata in Interiors is no different. She has been a part of cinema for many years, and her talented ability to own her characters, and basically become them, shines in anything she does. I know that I speak a lot about certain actors and actresses who own their characters, but to me, that is the example of how good a performer they are. They are not just acting out a job, that they have been paid for, they become the part and express a true passion. The flawless actors and actress’ are those, who look at a part and own it. They breathe it, enter its soul and possess it; that is what Keaton does. Keaton is one of those performers that in my viewpoint goes up there with all the greats of the past and present. From starring in the greatest films like The Godfather series, to the many Woody Allen films, she is a goddess of performance. She deserves all the recognition she can get. Her ability to perform with Woody Allen is priceless in many of his films from Sleeper, to Annie Hall and many, many others, including Love and Death and Interiors. She not only is an actress but also a director. She is a multi-talented person of cinema that is gorgeous to watch in anything she does.

Also, starring Richard Jordon. Jordan was one of the great stage and screen actors. He plays anything from Shakespeare roles to television roles. I will always remember him from three of my favorite films, Logan’s Run, Dune and Gettysburg. He was a brilliant actor. He also starred in another Twilight Time Blu-ray Special Edition release, Chato’s Land (1972).

Interiors is a drama both directed and written by Allen. I think what one reality that needs to be pin pointed is the extraordinary acting by Geraldine Page in this film. She would be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for this part. She was amazing as the character of Eve in Interiors. She was a gifted soul and basically owned her many years and many characters to a crystal-clear award worthy clarity. She was one of the few that shinned and is truly a memorable soul of cinema. All one must do is look at her long amazing career.

She was nominated for so many awards. Her many characters in film stands out. From the mastery of 1953’s Hondo, 1962’s Sweet Bird of Youth, 1985’s The Trip of Bountiful which might I add see finally won an Academy Award for.  Other greats she starred in 1971’s The Beguiled, 1984’s The Pope of Greenwich Village just to mention a few. The point is she was a golden ticket of film. It was great seeing her again in this movie. When she died in 1988, Hollywood lost royalty in my viewpoint.

Now also what really makes this film stand out is that this was really the first and ultimate adventure for Allen in directing and writing a Drama film. Allen was all about comedy, and that is really what he was known for. Interiors is pure drama. The characters and the situation is a dramatic journey in what I feel is amazing film making. Allen can transcend his comedy and enter the world of thought provoking story telling. This is about a family. The mother Eve is going mad. Her emotional makeup and reality is leading the family into a realm of chaos with the reality taking place. A husband disillusioned and three daughters cope, as their world changes.

Overall:

Yet again Twilight Time has brought the Grade A, high quality reality to another product. Woody Allen fans will be super happy with this new Blu-ray. I think film lovers will be amazed at this brilliance that Twilight Time gives to their transfers of 1080p High Definition. Another wonderful product in audio and video. Sadly, you only get one special feature, which is an amazing special feature, a wonderful commentary, but sadly you don’t get anything else. Looking passed that reality, the product transfer itself is priceless, and should be praised, and most of all expressed, owned by any movie lover or fan or collector. Highly Recommended.
