My Review and Thoughts:

My Rating: 4 out of 5

This Blu-ray has been brought out by one of the great companies that pick and choose and restore forgotten pieces of cinema. Cult Epics is a one of a kind company that creates dynamic products that showcase the world of cinema and honor it with beauty. They put into the product and represent that film as something bold and new. Many of their choices are odd, artistic, visionary, vintage, Cult, forgotten movies to this modern world of cinema.

Obsessions has been taken, refreshed, cleaned, and brought out as a perfect product. It has never looked any better or sounded any better or graced the world of movie lovers until now. To see this film in this Cult Epics Blu-ray is to experience a new, fresh experience that only masterly companies like Cult Epics can do.

This mystery, thriller is a total experience of product perfection. The movie itself is a total twisted Hitchcock like orgy. The product, this enhanced cleaned up Blu-ray creates a whole new film. Cult Epics has brought an old, lost morsel of cinema, and created a vibrant piece of perfected clarity.

Obsessions is directed and co-written by a unique visionary talent and ultimate one of a kind directors Pim de la Parra. His many films stand out as being unique and one of kind. From the very erotic style of film making to many one of kind Cult films that garner his unique style of filming. His many films leave a lingering expression of artistic value. From co-producing 1971’s Blue Movie. To directing 1973’s Frank en Eva, 1975’s My Nights with Susan, Sandra, Olga & Julie, and many more films that stand out in one way or another. He not only was a director but a writer, producer and many more titles in the film world. What also makes Obsessions so unique is it’s co-written. Co-written by one of the future iconic directors in cinema history. The one and only masterpiece director Martin Scorsese. As we all know, he would go on to direct masterpieces like Goodfellas, Casino, Gangs of New York and so many others. Obsessions is unique and impressive experience in the Cult status reality of filmmaking.

Starring the absolutely beautiful and stunningly gorgeous Alexandra Stewart. Still acting strong today. She is a one of a kind beauty that captures the essence of acting in all it’s many facades. She has performed in over 140 performances and her stardom is a brilliant wonderment for any fan of cinema. Her beauty and her gift of acting shines in countless pieces of cinema, from small parts, to bigger parts, she knows how to capture the lens of the camera and send the viewer into a whirlwind of perfection as one watches. Also starring Dieter Geissler as your main character of Nils Janssen. Dieter captures brilliance in the role and makes you believe his plight taking place on screen. He stopped acting in 1974 but went on to produce many films. Including one of my all time favorite films, the wonderful fantasy film, 1984’s The Neverending Story. He would also produce Part 2 and 3 of the series and including the TV Series of the movie. The chemistry between Dieter and Alexandra is spot on. They both play off each other’s, talent and capture perfection in the rolls on screens.

Cult Epics has chosen a very unique little gem of a film and crafted a wonderful Blu-ray product that is highly skilled, and is a top notch wonderment of cinema heaven. They have crafted a High Definition beauty. A new outlet to this older film that captures the passion and power of the cinema world by expressing and choosing a truly Cult film to experience. If there are movies that belong in the Cult Status reality, Obsessions is most assuredly one of them with out a doubt.
