My Review and Thoughts:
My Rating: 5 out of 5
Yet again another masterpiece of cinema, brought forth by
one of the great film companies Cult Films. Cult Films has away with crafting a
total excellence and clarity to its products. When one wants to experience a
top notch Blu-ray all one must do is seek the products of this company out and
experience a perfection that gives the film fan a total satisfaction. Cult Films honors forgotten cinema and crafts beauty
around their products that very few companies do. When I watch a Cult Film
release I know I am going to be in for a treat. I know the product will not let
me down.
Juliet of the Spirits is a great mastery experience that any
lover of cinema will take to. If you haven’t seen this film then you will be in
for a total treat. It bleeds Fellini’s perfection and golden rule of crafting masterpieces
of film.
Federico Fellini is a masterpiece director that has left the
world of cinema with so many amazing pieces of film. I mean one only must look
at his vast career of brilliance. From La Dolce Vita, 8 1/2, The Clowns,
Amarcord, just to name a few. He was a director above and beyond what I
consider Cinema. He was a director that could capture a living, emotional reality
on screen. He made you believe his characters. He made you believe his
scenarios. He let you become a part of the situation taking place on screen,
and this movie is a prime example of that reality. His touch of "Cinema
Brilliance" is captured in this movie. Interesting to note this was
Fellini’s first colored production.
Starring the one of a kind, beautiful and stunning performer
Giulietta Masina as your main lead character. She is a golden ticket of acting
perfection. Looking back on her amazing career it brings tears to my eyes
knowing her amazing talent is no longer with us. She was one of the greatest
actresses to ever grace the cinema world, and I don’t say that lightly. I loved
her. I loved her films. I loved her persona. I loved each character she created
on screen, and the character of Giulietta Boldrini in Juliet of the Stars is no
different. She was a multi nominated and Award winning actress.
Also starring in this is another fantastic beauty of cinema, Sandra
Milo. She plays the character of Susy, Iris and Fanny. She is still acting
today. She is a Golden Ticket of perfection. She acted many times in Fellini’s
films. She was brilliant as the three multi characters in Juliet of the
Spirits.
I have seen this on DVD before and it looked not that great,
seeing it now on this Special Edition, HD transfer is what crafting Blu-ray’s
is all about. The film has never looked any better. It shines in perfection. I
was thoroughly amazed at how beautiful the new transfer was. So vibrant and eye
opening when it came to the video and audio. Cult Films really went above and
beyond to create a wonderful Blu-ray to own.
This movie has one of the most unique music scores. A fun, wild, trippy score. Both equally defining and perfected. The music score is done by a musical master Nino Rota. A true perfection at the musical world. His long vast career starting in 1933 and his work is still used today long after his death in 1979. He was a total master. He has worked on all of Fellini pictures, created each of there scores. He composed for such amazing films as 1963's The Leopard. The one of a kind and best film creation of the timely tale 1968's Romeo and Juliet. And both The Godfather and The Godfather Part 2, among many other amazing features. He was one of kind and his music in Juliet of the Spirits is a perfected brilliance.
Juliet of the Spirits is a multi-award winning film. A film
that stands the test of time. This film in 1966 won the Golden Globe for Best
Foreign Language Film. This is the first time in the UK that this is being
released on Blu-ray and Cult Films is releasing it on all digital formats
including Amazon. This is also a dual special edition, meaning you also get the
DVD with the Blu-ray which just adds to the perfection of this product.

New HD restoration and regrading from Cult Films. This has
never looked so amazing. I was totally blown away that my movie loving mind was
in total awe and beyond words at how beautiful this transfer was. If any movie
deserved a new High Definition transfer, then it is Juliet of the Spirits. It
looks amazing. The video quality is stunning. The vibrant colors and dynamic crisp
imagery is like a new improved wonderment to the eyes. The audio is the same. A
stunning impression on the ears that leaves a lasting mark. Cult Films always
seems to butter up these classic films in a new worthy to praise example.
