All the Boys Love Mandy Lane (2006-2013)

Plot: A group of high-schoolers invite Mandy Lane to a weekend party on a secluded ranch. While the festivities rage on, the number of murders begin to drop quite mysteriously.

Starring: Amber Heard, Michael Welch, Anson Mount, Whitney Able, Edwin Hodge, Luke Grimes,

My Review and Thoughts:

Sweet innocent Mandy catches all the eyes of the guys but no one is able to have. Mandy's best friend Emmet the nerd try's to protect her but after a pool side accident and summer passes Emmet has no place in Mandy's growing world.

Mandy Lane is the hot one. The one headed for the in crowd. She is the school hottie all the guys droll. It seems Emmet no longer appeals to her as the jocks and the popular kids invite her in.

The rich stuck up high schoolers, the incrowd and drug sniffing popular ones invite sweet Mandy Lane to a weekend party.

Weekend antics, booze, boobs, drugs, sex and teenage screams.

Soon the party takes on a whole new setting. Mandy Lane and her new friends are being stalked one after the other.

This is a classic retro style slasher film with the old school reality. This mixes creepy ranch hand, middle of nowhere, screaming dumb chicks and brainless dudes.

Gore and death run rampant in the old style of a black out, creepy night sounds and the typical black guy walking out in the dark to investigate.

It's amazing this was made 7 years ago and just now getting the release. It's an independent horror film that works for what it is. It's a simple fun slasher.

I mean it doesn't take a rocket scientist to guess who the bad guy is. With that said the movie still works because there is more truth then what you think. The interesting thing is all the characters are created to be hated or be cared less about. I in all honesty not in a sick and disturbing way was rooting for the killer. Yeah that sounds bad.

What stands out the most are the deaths. They are done in a unique and twisted ways that stand out from other horror slasher films.

The real star of the show is Michael Welch. He gives a fantastic performance. I have always been a big fan of his from Joan of Arcadia to the Twilight Saga. He shines in the part of Emmet.

For an indie horror film it shines. Low budget horror that feels like a classic and had one of the coolest and truly original and unique endings that I absolutely loved.

A pure fun ride of classic slasher and yet a truly original modern horror that stands to be remembered.
